We have an excellent opportunity for a junior candidate! Our client, a small law firm in Burnaby, is seeking an entry-level or junior candidate to work as a both a receptionist as well as in the capacity of a junior LAA. Dealing in Wills & Estates, Civil Litigation and some Corporate Law, this is a great opportunity to be exposed to and learn several areas of law.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and tend to clients
- Answer and direct incoming calls
- Notify lawyers and assistants of clients arrivals and maintain log visitors
- Arrange for meetings
- Accept deliveries at front desk
- Process credit card payments
- Cross-train in other office services positions
- Retrieve closed files
- Provide administrative support to lawyers including;
- filing, opening & closing files, maintaining calendars and client lists, maintaining bring forward systems, reviewing and filing email correspondence using established firm standards and procedures, and time entry
- Assistance with the production of basic correspondence and legal documents using advanced formatting features, including proofreading and formatting
- Organizing and assembling documents, books, binders and other materials
- Assisting other staff with work as time permits
- Other general administrative and legal support related tasks
Qualifications:
- LAA Certificate from recognized institution or relevant work experience
- Proficient with MS Word and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently
Salary for this position will be $50,000 -$55,000 per annum with extended benefits for health and dental along with 3 weeks vacation after one year.
