Hiring Junior LAA to work in Boutique Labour and Employment Law Firm

Our client, one of Western Canada’s leading labour law firms, is located in downtown Vancouver and are looking to hire a junior legal administrative assistant to join their team. This is an entry level position and great for those looking to start their career in legal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to lawyers including;
    • filing, opening & closing files, maintaining calendars and client lists, maintaining bring forward systems, reviewing and filing email correspondence using established firm standards and procedures, and time entry
  • Assistance with the production of basic correspondence and legal documents using advanced formatting features, including proofreading and formatting
  • Hearing, arbitration and litigation support
  • Organizing and assembling documents, books, binders and other materials
  • Assisting other staff with work as time permits
  • Other general administrative and legal support related tasks

Qualifications:

  • Up to four years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant or Legal Administrative Assistant
  • Diploma from an accredited college an asset
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to be adaptable and resourceful
  • Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a self-starter attitude
  • Ability to prioritize tasks assigned and, when necessary, switch between uncompleted tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple assignments
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision, and to obtain the assistance of others required
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook and PC Law
