Our client, one of Western Canada’s leading labour law firms, is located in downtown Vancouver and are looking to hire a junior legal administrative assistant to join their team. This is an entry level position and great for those looking to start their career in legal.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to lawyers including;
- filing, opening & closing files, maintaining calendars and client lists, maintaining bring forward systems, reviewing and filing email correspondence using established firm standards and procedures, and time entry
- Assistance with the production of basic correspondence and legal documents using advanced formatting features, including proofreading and formatting
- Hearing, arbitration and litigation support
- Organizing and assembling documents, books, binders and other materials
- Assisting other staff with work as time permits
- Other general administrative and legal support related tasks
Qualifications:
- Up to four years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant or Legal Administrative Assistant
- Diploma from an accredited college an asset
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to be adaptable and resourceful
- Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly
- Strong interpersonal skills with a self-starter attitude
- Ability to prioritize tasks assigned and, when necessary, switch between uncompleted tasks
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple assignments
- Ability to work with little direct supervision, and to obtain the assistance of others required
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook and PC Law
