Our client is the Vancouver Office of a premier law firm that has been serving clients for over 20 years. The position is in their litigation team where there are 5 Legal Administrative Assistants and 2 Paralegals. There are great mentorship opportunities for somebody that wants to learn and grow. In this role your essential functions will be:
Clerical, administrative and general office duties, include:
- Providing vacation/sick coverage for assistants throughout the litigation department
- Assisting co-workers and assistants with overload and project work
- Preparation of legal documents
- Document organization
- Drafting letters
- Maintaining records and filings
- Maintaining an up-to-date file and diary system
Qualifications:
- Legal Assistant Certificate or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Familiarity with litigation along with terminology and procedures are an asset but not a requirement
- Highly organized and able to prioritize work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated and takes initiative
- Respond to everyday tasks with little supervision
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
- A strong team player; demonstration of a positive work ethic
- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical aptitude for learning various computer programs
