Small Law Office is Seeking a Junior/Intermediate LAA to work in Strata and Civil Law

Our client has an outstanding track record in strata and civil law and are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent Legal Administrative Assistant.  This is an in office position with benefits provided.

Responsibilities:

  • File preparation and management
  • Daily communication with clients, experts and opposing counsel
  • Time entry and billing
  • Booking court dates and discoveries
  • Prepare correspondence, faxes and documents from precedent documents using application software (Word/Outlook/Worldox)
  • Organization and assembly of chambers records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books
  • Preparation of List of Documents and Bill of Costs
  • Other general and administrative tasks as required

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience working as a Legal Assistant within a law firm
  • Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Court, court practices and procedures
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and Worldox
  • The ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • Service oriented, adaptable, reliable and dependable
  • Professional work ethic and great attitude
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
