Our client is a full service law firm and has been located on the North Shore for over 30 years. They have a relatively new office location and offer a great working environment with good benefits. Currently, they are seeking to hire an office administration assistant to join their busy team and to also assist with bookkeeping.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily posting of vendor invoices and client disbursements to client ledgers
- Keep up to date with Law Society Rules pertaining to Trust Accounting
- Check bank accounts to verify and receipt deposits to A/R and client trust ledgers
- Prepare and review client billings to ensure accurate taxes, fee allocation
- Receipt client invoice payments
- Process trust cheques as per trust reconciliations/requisitions
- Bank deposit preparation
- Bank deposits to firm, client/solicitor accounts, mortgage/loan payouts taken to bank, including certifying cheques to meet real estate completion deadlines
- Receive bank calls to verify cheques
- Closing of client files for storage and shipment to 3rd party storage site
- Order all office supplies including toners and janitorial
- Telephone and reception relief
Requirements:
- Basic bookkeeping knowledge
- Strong computer skills
- Previous law firm experience and knowledge of Esilaw accounting software considered an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficient English language skills
