Our client is a well know law firm representing clients and is hiring a LAA for litigation. This role will assist lawyers and case managers in administration of file management.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working within a team setting
- Organizing and maintaining files, including electronic files
- Preparation of correspondence and legal documents
- Arranging court filing and service of documents
- Coordination of dates for Examinations for Discovery, Hearings & Trials
- Calendar scheduling
- Assisting with preparation with Examinations, Hearings and Trials
- Document production and exchange
- Managing BF system
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail
- Other administrative duties
Qualifications:
- LAA Diploma or Certificate
- 3+ years of experience
- Working knowledge of BC Supreme Court Civil Rules
- Strong team player
- Superb written verbal and written communications skills
- Great telephone etiquette
- MS Office proficiency and knowledge of case management software
- Superior organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Time management
- Sound business judgement and ability to make judgement calls and recommendations along with handling sensitive information
- Professional temperament
