Our client is one of Canada’s leading class action litigation firms and they are hiring an LAA for class action litigation. This role will assist lawyers and case managers in administration and file management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• manage file progression including obtaining relevant documentation and managing settlement process
• draft, file and serve pleadings and application materials
• legal research
• Chambers and Trial preparation
• Point of contact for clients, including obtaining information regarding their claim
• monitor and diarize limitation dates

Qualifications & Requirements:

• LAA Diploma as well as 3-5 years of experience in litigation
• Superior organizational/document management skills with a strong attention to detail
• Fact investigation, analysis and problem-solving abilities
• Computer knowledge including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Internet, Case Management Software
• Advanced knowledge of database management
• Research and legal analysis skills
• Ability to manage work responsibilities in an unstructured environment
• Independent with the ability to confidently make judgment calls and recommendations
• Ability to prioritize tasks and execute deliverables in a timely manner
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Sound business judgment including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Professional temperament, including the ability to remain calm under difficult circumstances

The typical salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
