LAA – Project Development, Finance & Banking Position Available in Downtown Law Firm

Our client is one of BC’s most prominent business and real estate development law firms and they are looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant in the areas of project development, finance and banking to fill in a permanent vacancy in their firm. Working under one of the firm’s partners, co-heading the department, as well as another associate, this role is best suited to an intermediate or senior LAA (or very strong junior).

Duties may include and are not limited to:

  • Proficient in iManage
  • Competence in understanding the use of software
  • Ability to learn of PPSA
  • Managing closing checklists, due diligence review (including title and survey)
  • Possessing outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • The ability to exercise practical judgment; and be highly motivated self-starters
  • Carrying out a wide range of projects including filings, document production and review in connection with domestic and international project financings
  • Incorporate subsidiaries, update statuses, books of meeting minutes and registers
  • Prepare subsidiary resolutions, banking resolutions (opening accounts)
  • Renew authorizations
  • Prepare and attend meetings, write minutes
  • Ensure legal monitoring and consider any amendments to the law
  • Set up and track the legal schedule
