They are seeking to fill the position of a full-time LAA to work on their litigation team with two other lawyers. This is a very cohesive, friendly team-based environment!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain efficient file management system and bring forward system for limitation and follow up dates
- Prepare and drafting various correspondence and legal documents from dictation to precedent documents
- Prepare list of documents
- Schedule trials, applications, hearing and other matters
- Perform PPR, LTO, tax and similar searches
- Handling incoming and outgoing €mail; answering client telephone calls and communication with opposing counsel
- Prepare bills
Qualifications:
- Graduation from recognized LAA or Paralegal program
- 3+ years of experience
- Thorough understanding of insolvency procedures (foreclosures, receiverships and CCAA proceedings)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage, organize and prioritize work independently
- Proficiency in LTSA and MS Office
- Ability to stay focused
- Strong organization skills and a high attention to detail
