Hiring a Legal Administrative Assistant to work in Litigation for Mid-Sized Law Firm

Our client is friendly long-established firm committed to providing exceptional service and outstanding results for their clients.   They are seeking to fill the position of a full-time LAA to work on their litigation team with two other lawyers.  This is a very cohesive, friendly team-based environment!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain efficient file management system and bring forward system for limitation and follow up dates
  • Prepare and drafting various correspondence and legal documents from dictation to precedent documents
  • Prepare list of documents
  • Schedule trials, applications, hearing and other matters
  • Perform PPR, LTO, tax and similar searches
  • Handling incoming and outgoing €mail; answering client telephone calls and communication with opposing counsel
  • Prepare bills

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from recognized LAA or Paralegal program
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Thorough understanding of insolvency procedures (foreclosures, receiverships and CCAA proceedings)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage, organize and prioritize work independently
  • Proficiency in LTSA and MS Office
  • Ability to stay focused
  • Strong organization skills and a high attention to detail
