Our client is one of Vancouver’s premier boutique commercial law and litigation firms and they are seeking a legal administrative assistant to work in their litigation team. The successful candidate will report to a Senior Litigation Paralegal and it is a great position for those who are passionate about the legal field and possess the required skills.
Responsibilities but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparation of court forms and pleadings and file documentation.
- Provide dictation and transcribe legal and other correspondence into written documents.
- Schedule hearings, discoveries, trials, and mediations; liaise with counsel.
- Assemble records and binders for court appearances.
- Conduct online searches (Court Services Online, BCOnline, Land Title Office).
- Manage legal files (opening/closing), handle client calls and perform general administrative tasks.
- Prepare accounts, track receivables, and process accounting forms.
- Draft and respond to correspondence.
- Provide support for the Litigation Department as well as legal administrative needs throughout the firm.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of legal administrative experience, preferably within a law firm or legal environment.
- Proficient understanding of court documentation and legal procedures.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel); familiarity with PC Law, NetDocs, and iPro Eclipse considered an asset.
- Demonstrated strength in organization, communication, and technical aptitude.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads with accuracy and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with sound judgment and the ability to work independently and proactively.
The salary range for this position is between $54,000 – $58,000 per annum.
