Boutique Law Firm Located in Downtown Vancouver is Seeking an Experienced Litigation Paralegal

Our client, a mid-sized boutique law firm located in the heart of Vancouver, is looking to hire an experienced litigation paralegal to work alongside other legal support staff and to assist their team of lawyers.

Responsibilities:

  • Evidence and document management, including organizing and reviewing documents, preparing lists of documents for production in court proceedings, eDiscovery and electronic document management, organizing and reviewing discovery and hearing transcripts
  • Assisting in preparations for examinations for discovery, court hearings, mediations and trials, including assembling affidavits and court records
  • Reviewing and analyzing evidence, including for relevance, privilege, and to identify key documents, and drafting memoranda
  • Performing factual research
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel and vendors, including by email, telephone and letter
  • Managing and working closely with document processing vendors
  • Drafting pleadings and affidavits

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience using Summation
  • Experience using CaseMap is preferred, but not essential
  • Knowledge of Supreme Court Civil Rules
  • Experience with E-Discovery
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer software; multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail
